Simone Chérie's Fit Guide for Bras & Lingerie

Trusted Source in Intimate Apparel
At Simone Chérie Fine Lingerie, we believe every woman deserves lingerie that fits beautifully, supports, and feels luxurious. Finding your perfect fit is more than just a number. It’s about discovering styles that celebrate your shape and confidence.
To start, do not wear a push-up or minimizer bra. This may affect your measurements.
Step 1: To measure your band size
- Wrap a soft measuring tape snugly around your ribcage. Directly under your bust.
- Round to the nearest whole number.
- If the number is even, add 2* inches. If it’s odd, add 3*. Example: 30" = 32 band size or 31" = 34 band size.
Note: Everyone has a different level of "snug" to their fit. Many lingerie brands and bra styles will have a different fit. The above is a baseline start to measuring your band. Our goal here is to understand your baseline ribcage measure - under the root of the breast. A snug fit should feel like "a nice warm hug", not to tight, not to loose but just right.
Step 2: To measure your bust size.
- Wrap the tape loosely around the fullest part of your bust.
- Round to the nearest whole number.
Note: The three most common bust size are: 1) Round (equal fullness top & bottom), 2) Teardrop (similar to Round but fullness is towards the bottom), and 3) Asymmetrical (one breast is a different size or shape than the other - very common). While standing in the mirror topless, you determine which breast shape is yours, and if you have one breast larger than. Now, place your good bra back on and remeasure at the fullness part.
Step 3: To calculate your cup size.
Subtract your band from your bust measurement.
| Difference | Cup Size |
| 1" | A |
| 2" | B |
| 3" | C |
| 4" | D |
| 5" | DD |
| 6" | DDD/E |
| 7" | G/F |
| 8" | H/FF |
| 9" | I/G |
| 10" | J/GG |
| 11" | K/H |
| 12" | L/HH |
| 13" | M/J |
| 14" | N/JJ |
Step 4: Find Your Style Match
Not all bras fit the same — different styles serve different needs.
- Balcony & Balconette Bras → Lift and shape, perfect for open necklines.
- Full Coverage & Full Cup Bras → Maximum support, great for everyday wear.
- Plunge Bras → Deep V shape for low-cut tops and dresses.
- Strapless Bras → Invisible support for off-shoulder looks.
- Wireless Bras → Gentle comfort for relaxed wear.
- Sports Bras → Secure support for workouts.
Fit Tips from Simone Chérie Experts:
- Your band should fit snugly on the loosest hook — it will relax over time.
- Straps should sit comfortably on your shoulders without digging.
- Cups should fully contain your bust — no gaping, no spilling over.
- A well-fitted bra should sit flat at the center of your chest.
